ust under a week to go! who is your starting 11 from the ones we have now? mine is>>>>

    Colgan

    Hassell Reid Kay Heckingbottom

    Devaney Togwell Howard Hayes

    Mcindoe Richards

Subs Atkinson (looks to have matured) Tonge Coulsen Letheren Wright!

The 11 look ok but the problem is the strength of the bench!

We wouldn't get over half way.

If we're having one up front Tommy Wright please.

Hayes could not play up front on his own, IMHO.

My starting 11 frees up Devaney, McIndoe and Howard to get forward. With Hayes creating up there, and with his workrate, i think it would work really well.

yeah, thinking about the opposition we may need to pack the midfield as to not get over run!

Midfield looks as strong as any other in the league, the only problem being with Hayes coming so deep all the time we'd be playing 4-1-5-0.

    Cardiff's most likely starting 11...

Alexander

Gilbert Loovens Purse McNaughton

Ledley Scimeca McPhail Parry

Thompson Chopra

For me, playing Wright or Richards up front just plays into the hands of Darren Purse. Hayes is much the better option for his pace. We know McPhail and Scimeca don't have exceptional work rate, its just if Chopra gets the chance, he's going to hit the net. Back 4 got to be good.

Why did we take McParland ??

I keep waiting to see him start, did he get on on Sat, how did he do ?. What little I have seen of him I have been happy with so I dont understand why he is not getting a starting place...

RE: Why did we take McParland ??

personally i think if we sign healy he should definately be in the first team. howard is a good player and lets not forget, also an option on the wing. i always rated colin healy and before he broke his leg he was excellent...i'm sure he'll be reproducing that sort of form if we sign him. also togwell may be slotting in at the back to sure things up if need be. a midfield of healy and togwell looks solid and strong to me, something mcphail doesn't like.

i actually reckon putting tommy wright on might be an option purely because he is so aggressive...people like purse and scimeca will get wound up by him. that'll give hayes more space...richards is sometimes too tidy and doesn't get into defenders faces (obviously usually wright gets TOO in their faces). also coulson looks like a good option for breaking behind defences.

for one thing I think we're going to be playing 4-5-1

    especially away from home

We seem to have the option of many different formations, i just hope that we practise the change enough for it to be success. We also have players who can play different postions so we can be flexible. We need to sign Healy very soon and a centre half.

RE: for one thing I think we're going to be playing 4-5-1

I think 4-5-1 will be very helpful in certain situtations next season, I just hope we don't adopt it as the normal formation. If we start using it at home in winnable games (such as Cardiff at home) I think we are just inviting pressure onto us. One of the reason we had such a good defense last season is because we attacked other teams and put them on the back foot.

Anyway i'm sure Ritchie knows what he is doing.
