People slag Clarkey for letting Speedie go for nowt

but when you look at what he scored in 23 games I suppose you can excuse him.

    Though misleading for some

I think it may include sub appearances, Hristov cannot have started 44 games, surely?

It highlights the qualities of the good midfielders we have had in our times. And I consider myself lucky enough to have seen most of the best like

Redfearn, Glavin, Banks, Owen, Hignett, Gray etc

Aye it appears a flawed source though useful

to be fair to the guy who runs the site though I think he will update if informed of errors

    Before that

Cecil McCormack 50 app 42 goals
Abe Blight 45 app 36 goals
    John Wallbanks 118 65
John Wallbanks was sold in 1932 which upset Barnsley supporters however we signed 21 year old Blight who hit 31 goals in 33-34 promotion season, and 5 more before a injury at Plymouth meant he was never to play football again.
