The first ones I bought which were specific replica shirts were the home & away ones from the 1986/87 season, sponsored by Sandal Bayern.
When I worra lad, all football kits were generic. So , as long as a club badge was missing, a Barnsley shirt was exactly like a Manchester United one, which was exactly like a Wrexham one and so on and so forth.

But to join in with the spirit of things.

Was in York House at Wombwell High. Ended up with a Dirty Leeds Yellow top.

    My mum wasn't to know........

Think from memory mine was an england replica (as in it was white with some blue and red on!) lol

First real shirt was the Sandal Bayern white stripe kit and ive still got it. Its tiny as i was only about 8 i think. Can still remember trying it on in the old cabin at the back of the ponty that had a calor gas stove on the go to keep em warm. Think that memory will live with me forever.

I could have written that myself.

Generic Reds shirt c 1958-60. Doubled up as a Barnsley shirt who we supported, and Manchester United who we followed.
The Mark Jones connection was very strong in Wombwell back in the Dark Ages.

I can't remember which was my first Barnsley badged replica shirt.

I have a very old white away shirt with black trim and with the Well and Oakleaf badge on it from the 80s I think.

I wouldn't wear one for some years because I thought you had to earn the right to wear the shirt by playing for the club. I felt uncomfortable wearing one.

First shirt for me was the red Shaw Carpets one with the white thick v neck collar. Over the years i've had plenty of shirts from other clubs but.....

    1) Never a local rival.
    2) Always on the cheap.

Got an Hearts goalie top from when they had Bowstrong as their sponsor. My favourite is probably a PSG shirt from their Ronaldinho days. Got a Newcastle one with brown ale on the front from when Shearer played for them. Got a yellow home shirt of Boavista.

My first was a Barnsley kit in 1981. Still have it, but can't squeeze into it any more. In fact, I'd be happy if I could still squeeze into my premiership shirt!

It has the old oak leaf and well badge on it. Just about every photo of me from that era has me wearing that shirt.

    oooh, naar then....

generic aston villa/west ham/burnley shirt from somewhere, a few liverpool kits in the mid 80's (crown paints, i think) then quite a few dundee united shirts in the 80's and 90's - including a rather disgusting looking green and black keeper shirt a la alan main!!

Mine was Play Off Final one from 1999-2000 season, with the white stripe across the front of the shoulders.

    Happy times.

A grey Man Utd away / 3rd kit from the mid-90's. A truly awful kit that was a present from a relative. Not even sure why as I wasn't a fan
