what a legend he was we'll get to the first division within three seasons
and he built the East Stand
and paid £200k (was it?) for John Friggin Pearson

RE: what a legend he was but he also brought in taggart fleming and possibly steve davis though i could be wrong. but like you say he got us the eaststand for flogging tiler what was cloughie thinking paying 1.5 millionn for him
He did that... when I say he built the Eaststand..it's what he once said in an interview after he had gone to Bournemouth!! As though he toiled and built the frigger himself!!
RE: He did that... i thought mel had a raw deal from city when they sacked him after getting promotion. not the pretiest of football but they worked very hard.
badly treated.... he was that...could never understand it. Brought a really good young side through at City
Never forget the Leeds match and running on the pitch after beating Boro...just to find out that friggin Brighton had won and made us miss out..
Did we start East Stand after that season, as it seems to be the last time I can remember being in Brewery Stand

RE: badly treated.... i think so cos the next season i remember there was a distinct lack of atmosphere. did he bring in w biggins aswell?
yeah.. and Andy Rammell....
but then brought in Andy Saville, John Pearson, Charlie Bishop, Denzol Graham, Wayne Bullimore and probably more besides...

RE: yeah.. top player was Rambo...never a world beater but as honest as the day is long and liek you say the heart of a lion
RE: yeah.. exactly the type of player we need now more than ever. thats why i think gerry would be great not the quickest but the team would listen to him and he would get the crowd going aswell. passion and pride is what we need not fancy football thats just an added bonus.
Agreed 100% we need some nasty ******** that hate losing and show it..and no Tony Vaughan rash tackles that get you sent off three times a season don't count
a club captain that tells the manager to **** off, great stuff

and that's the big problem at the minute
I think we've got a few players who think they are they big I am...and all that does is piss fans off
It's like making McPhail captain..all he seems to do is blame other players?

RE: and that's this is why i would love to see taggart back , i know hes older and you should never go back but he played 30 + games in a higher division last year he cant be that bad
He could be just what we need.. a strong committed player who wants to be here rather than having to be here cos no-one else wants him
RE: He could be just what we need.. plus he still has strong connections with tarn and he would sell a few more tickets .
Tiler is the best player the youth system , has produced by a country mile in the 20 years I have been follwing the club. He was fast , could head , tackle in fact the ideal defender. Still each to their own.
