Just wanted to wake up the Paul Hayes fan club and get you lot into the real world - The guy has one good season for Scnuthorpe and suddenly he's a proven goalscorer - his record for Barnsley is awful - 1 goal every 5.1 games - that my learned friends is garbage for a striker thats had more chances than a monopoly board!! He admits 12 months ago that he wants to move south and still gets picked despite wanting away - still scoring sweet FA every 5 games, then comes the bombshell that I just love off the HTFC website... ...personally I don't think Ritchie should have been sacked!! well course you would, he used to pick the waste of space every week!! Davey's just seen him for what he is - a powder puff, lightweight!! ...he goes on to say that he thinks he should be in the Barnsley side now, cheeky sod!! In place of who?? Who's he better than at the moment?? Just had to get that off my chest cos I'm sick of being told what a good player he is - strikers are paid to score goals and there are defenders around that have a better return than him!! Thanks for the few tricks you showed us Paul, but it's fight and passion we need at the Well - and son, you just ain't got it. Blue and white stripes suit you....and that suits us too! (N)
Dwayne Mattis will develop into a better player (given a chance) than Paul Hayes Mattis is a midfielder with a good engine and a good touch Given a chance this guy could develop into a decent midfield player Hayes is a forward and therefore should score goals He has been given the chance - he didn't score goals.....................full stop
RE: Dwayne Mattis will develop into a better player (given a chance) than Paul Hayes i am not a big fan of mattis, seen him a few times and thought he was pants. but then looking back, I can't remember seeing a worse player at oakwell than chopra when he 1st came to us. he was awful and now look at him!And when devaney 1st came last season i was shocked at the talent ritchie had brought in cos he had a shocking first few games! maybe this lad just needs time and a decent run to find his feet. time will tell.
Unfortunately time is not what we have at the moment. Therefore it's better not to play him right now.
Decent post, a powder puff forward. Why was this post hijacked by a diatribe on mattis? hayes is probably one of he wort forwards i've seen in 30 years of watching the reds. we should have took the southend offer.....except, they're our rivals and if it suits them, it doesn't suit us. Anyway goodbye, psuedo striker fella
Answer: a very talented footballer. Quick, strong and intelligent. At the moment suffering fromconfidence problems but will go on to make his mark as a talented Championship footballer.
i think paul hayes is a decent footballer. that said a centre forward for us in this league he is not much use. We need hard workers and that is just not his style. I have nothing agaisnt the lad and wish him well and thank him for his service and his goals in the play offs. He as you say clearly has been wanting to leave anyway so im not too worried about the so called fall out with davey.
strong? quick? is this the same paul hayes? i agree that technically he is very gifted and can spot a pass - i also think he might make it in the championship but he sure isn't quick or strong in my opinion!
