Me. "Couldn't agree terms."</p> "Wanted to wait until January."</p> "Not the type of player suitable for us."</p> "Too much like Marc Richards."</p>
It's really sad as well... ... the team have really given their all in the earlier part of the season but recent performances have been on the slide. Palace were there for the taking on Saturday, but most of the players didn't turn up. For the want of the loan signing of two or three quality experienced players a young manager may lose his job and the club be relegated.</p> Oh and all you Ritchie out types, were you saying that 6 months since on a rainy afternoon in Cardiff ?</p>
RE: Me. It's not a matter of "thinks" it's a must, but like you i'm not to confident, only Cadermatri with some hard bargaining.(doh)
If they don't sign anyone decent this week... ...I'm not carting up and down the country to every game like I have been.</p> I'll be picking and chosing.</p> Get on that cocking phone.</p>
No we were'nt saying Ritchie out, but we were on the brink of promotion....... the thing is Dave, you live and die by the results, would your boss be satisfied with partial success, say, one good week followed by a disastrous week? if no signings of real quality are forthcoming this week, and he only signs D C then he'll have to go.
RE: No we were'nt saying Ritchie out, but we were on the brink of promotion....... I have people who work for me, I try to take a longer view. Also if I didn't give them the tools to do the job, who's fault would that be ?</p> Ritchie ought to name some players to go for eg Lucketti, Shipperly you know experienced names... then see if GS is prepared to really go for them, it would flush out whether we have any serious money or intentions of signing any decent players, or whether it is just blame shiffting from chairman to manager or vice versa.</p> </p>
And me mate. ..... the problem is ..... .... that Ritchie clearly lacks confidence in a) dropping any of his current squad, even though he probably realises that his ongoing loyalty to his 'promotion-winners' will get him the sack sooner rather than later; b) negotiating and bringing in proven, experienced Championship standard players; and c) managing those 'experienced' players if he ever signs any. I'm sorry to say it, because I hate all the chopping and changing of managers and agree that doing so is destructive in itself, but I think AR is now out of his depth, for the reasons stated at a, b and c and if he doesn't bring anybody in before the loan deadline, and we don't get at least 7 points out of the next 9, his days will be numbered and perhaps rightly so.
Keep the faith honestly, next 3 games will sort us right, will just have to ask the Killers to be quiet for 2 minutes on Tuesday so we can find out the Southend score. "I've got soul but I'm....." "Can tha be quiet for just 2 minutes, relegation 6 pointer tonight tha knows back ome"
Typically, loans are sorted out between the 2 managers GS has given AR the green light to get loan players in, meaning we'll do a deal on the wages, whatever needs to be done. AR has given umpteen excuses as to why we've not brough any loan players in so far, not one of them has indicated GS has said no. "younger targets" "wont let anybody out" "waiting til January" "want experience" "similar to Marc Richards"
