Lovely warm day stood on the open corner. Sunderland needed a draw, we as usual had nothing to play for. They went two up and were cruising and then Jim Dobbin scored from long range just before half time.

In the second half Rodger Wylde scored and then Gwynn Thomas from an identicle finish. Sunderland went into the relegation playoff with Gillingham and went down.

We got chased for miles in the car afterwards without knowing where we were. Happy days!!!

Only ever saw us lose at Joker Park!

You up for the double or nothing bet I have with BFC_Dave for the Blunderland game?

Ill have Sunderland to win mate. I cant see us handling Dwight Yorke can you? If I was Keane Id be attacking our left flank every time because we havent got a left back.

    Good old Roger Wylde

Trotting over to us after scoring with his big grin and waving to the fans. Mind you he never did more than trot.!!!

I only missed on match home and away that season. Must have been bloody mad!

I remember Rodger Wylde being interviewed after that match

The interviewer asked him how he felt about possibly sending his old club down. He responded by saying something along the lines of "You're getting boring now, let's talk about something interesting like my goal!"

Yep! Never forget them taunting us with "Mickey Mouse Club"

The silence was deafening when we left the ground... remember walking past a few discarded scarves on the way back to the car.
