Just thinking.. which reds player has been the most decorated player we've ever had, titles, honours, cups etc. Obviously John Stones springs to mind but I'm wondering about players who had the most honours WHEN they played for us. I think, and I may just throw up in my mouth here, that it might be Mido. For reference: X2 Dutch Eredivise, 1 Dutch Cup, 1 Dutch version of charity shield, and the African Cup of Nations Any other takers? Please, there must be.
Jan Molby? 15]Ajax Eredivisie: 1982–83 KNVB Cup: 1982–83 Liverpool Football League First Division: 1985–86, 1987–88, 1989–90 FA Cup: 1985–86, 1991–92 FA Charity Shield: 1986, 1988, 1989 +33 caps for Denmark.
David Johnson? Ipswich Town Texaco Cup: 1973 Liverpool Football League First Division: 1976–77, 1978–79, 1979–80, 1981–82 Football League Cup: 1980–81, 1981–82 FA Charity Shield: 1976, 1977 (shared), 1979, 1980 European Cup: 1976–77, 1977–78, 1980–81 UEFA Super Cup: 1977
He made a real difference when he arrived, was absolutely brilliant against Derby and possibly was also running the show in the first half away at Norwich. All without leaving the centre circle. Their manager realised this, so changed formation at half time to man-mark Molby and cut off his supply. Second half we were completely ineffective, and went from 1-0 up to 3-1 down very quickly. Molby quickly went from looking like the greatest player ever born to a fat bloke standing randomly in the middle of a football field because he'd got lost on his way to the shops.
Norman Hunter’s record would take some beating. 28 England caps 2 league titles FA Cup League Cup Charity Shield 2 Inter-Cities Fairs Cups Plus something not many can lay claim to although he did not play, he was a member of England’s 1966 World Cup winning squad
Probably Ashley Ward , I believe he went into the interior design business when he retired from footie
