    Played his football career at a time when the opposition selected players simply to kick lumps out of Gary Lineker. And the referees let them get away with. Yet he never retaliated, never sought retribution and never got booked. You're not hard if you can give it out, you're hard if you can take it. Gary Lineker got the **** kicked out of him every game and he took it like a man. Hard as nails.

    Some of that sounds gay, but it's not meant to.

    Good point, never thought of him like that

    I always thought he was too meek to have a go back. Best tap in striker England have ever had though, always in the right place at the right time.
