Hayes was far from being a 'lazy sod' Not surprisingly, he was confused/unhappy with his role. We don't allow forwards to be just forwards at Barnsley.
I wouldn't go that far. He was a top football player but was asked to play target man and out wide. He should've been played behind 2 strikers & we would have seen the best of him.
RE: Hayes was far from being a 'lazy sod'
Hate to disagree with a relative but he was as much use as damp gun powder.

I thought you'd picked up on it the time I said something about Mick in that thread which was critical of the plod. I'm ok, and I can still used the two fingers which haven't dropped of yet to type. Match was called off today so I've been busy on here.
Anyone remember Mick Clarke? (Strictly speaking he was a winger) Now he was quick. Didn't always know what to do with the ball, mind you, but he was pretty nifty.
No, penny dint drop. usually not on at this time as I go out Sunday, but I'm recovering from an op so not fully mobile yet. Been to me dads this aft though and watched Liverpool match. Mike Riley eh, dunt change does he.
certainly do.. Him and Rodger Wylde kept us up one particular season. As you say he had pace. Didn't we try to turn him into a left back?
