Well I wasn't at the game, but I'm sure I heard the commentary team mention his name.

Scott Jones was one of them there was one at the Donny game who was announced as a legend yet he'd only played about 30 games for us!

    Les Lea

Player of the Year in 1976 and a brilliant winger. Still lives in Barnsley up on the Swaithe development behind White Cross.

Scott Jones was our best centre back in the Bassett era. If he'd been fit we would have returned to the Premier. Bassett was a total idiot getting rid of de Zeeuw, and thinking he could be replaced by the likes of Tuttle and Brown ffs. As for Barry Murphy being a legend - how many of you saw him play? He was adequate to say the least.

Spud played over 600 games for Barnsley

and he's made more appearances for the reds than any player in the 120 years of the club. Surely that qualifies him as a legend. Legend doesn't necessarily mean international standard.

Barry Murphy has been one hell of a servant for Barnsley Football Club

If I remember correctly the other 'legend' yesterday was Walter Bennett who played up front with George Robledo in 1945/6? Must admit Walter was a new one on me (before mi time by a good 10 or 11 years) but he looked fairly sprightly for someone at 86.

The announcer made a mistake at the Donny game when he said Malcolm Graham had played for just one season, he actually played for about 5 or 6 years. But still, ne'er mind, 90% of the crowd wouldn't have a clue.

If Spud Murphy is a Barnsley Legend and great servant what about Big Eric and Rimmo? Surely both the best ever.
