that were going to be dropped?

The two missing from the squad were Turnbull and Williams. Not sure we can blame Williams for anything that happened at Crawley as he never made it on to the pitch and although Turnbull was crap, I don't think he stopped playing. I only saw the highlights like, so maybe he did?

It's possible the players Burton had his eye on worked their guts out all week in training, so he had a rethink, but he's got to be careful when he criticizes so harshly and promises changes, only for more or less the same squad to be selected the following week. Particularly when two of the three players dropped to the bench were young lads. I'm pretty sure his anger after last week's game wasn't directed at Waring, who had been subbed on the hour, and Holgate.

    Baffling team selection for me.

Great improvement when Hourihane & Hemmings went off, our 2 week links yesterday.

Was plenty of effort & endeavour yesterday, but we lost it briefly half way through first half, when Crewe capitalised on a few mistakes & we were lucky not to concede. We would have conceded against a better club & it would have most likely lead to another defeat, but thankfully we saw enough improvement in second half to beat a poor team.

To be fair to Hemmings I thought he offered more than Lita yesterday over the course of the game. Still woefully short in the striking department though.

Well I thought it was Cranie Nyatanga and Hurihane and arguably Turnbull and Lita

for me 2 of our best players at Crawley were Holgate and Lalcovic both of who were dropped which I found baffling

It was Cranie and Nyatanga for me, can't believe they were both picked yesterday. They're both experienced defenders and completely folded against Crawley.

Really surprised Burton continued the policy of dropping the young lads, after the senior pros let the side down... baffling indeed.

Both woeful for me. Hemmings isn't a footballer & Lita was one, but ain't now.

Waring & Oates for me next match. Oates can't do worse than either of those two.

Hemmings and Lita are possibly the worst strike partnership I've seen at Oakwell. They offer so little when the ball is played up to them. Hemmings has a decent shot on him and benefits more when we get wide and deliver into the box, but he has no fighting spirit whatsoever when having to hold his defender off with his back to goal. Just can't do it. Lita was very similar yesterday, making their selection together as baffling. One or the other with Waring was the only way either should have made the starting eleven.

He decided not to cut his nose off to spite his face and selected what he thought was his best team out of those available. It worked, we won.

It's a good job Nyatanga was picked. Would his replacement have been in the same position to head the ball in?

Wish Oates buried that 1 on 1

Exactly my thoughts for our weakest performers at Crawley and our best.

Hemmings went off in injury time. His substitution hardly changed the game

In that one situation he came closer to scoring for us than Lita has since I don't know when.
