I hope it isn't Lee Hughes. He might be able to score goals but he should still be locked up!

Did you hear Davey on Radio Sheffield? When asked if our next signing will be from overseas he said "maybe not". Could very well be Lee Hughes. Look at Taylor crying in the picture kissing his badge. Maybe knows his time there is coming to an end.....What about someone from Stockport? They have a number of good youngsters.

Either Taylor or Hughes would do me. Can't see it being Taylor as he'd be too expensive and we'd have no chance up against the Blunts. Could be Hughes though.....I hope so.

Did Davey say that new signings were on the way then?

He's been surprisingly quiet today - figured we'd get pre-match comments on the official website but we haven't had 'em, figured he may have been too busy making enquiries/in talks?

Either that or I missed it on the official site, or Rob Knowles didn't put it up? I dunno.

    Taylor to replace JCR?

If we could get £2M for JCR and spend £500k on Taylor I'd be well happy with that!

Taylor has 18 months left on his contract and I reckon if he does leave it will not be until the summer. Whoever gets him now would have to bid a million, but it would get accepted.

    I fail to see how

we can pontificate on how much of a thug Morgan is, yet some of you wish the pure scum that is Lee Hughes to be a paid employee of our club, someone you would then cheer on and support at our club.
He's pondlife to put it politely, count me out.

Justice was rightfully brought to Hughes.

If you feel that was justice

then I sincerely hope you never have friends/family who are victims of scum like him. 3 years for killing 1, causing the death of another and crippling another, whilst pissed, then doing a runner.
Aye bring him on, right role model.
    Not.

Not that I would like to see Hughes in a red shirt

but he's been responsible for a terrible accident, fecked off like a coward and got sent down for it the same way as joe bloggs would have for the same crime. As I've said beforw do you think a man should be prevented plying his given trade following a conviction?

Nevertheless I believe his signing would be a PR disaster and would permanently sully the name of the club.

I'm not defending what he did in any way

but I didn't think he was pissed when it happened and even though he acted like a moron and fled. He did turn himself in the next day.
Still doesn't change what he did though.

Don't even know why I just said that either because I'm basically arguing with myself because I don't think I'm that fussed about having him play for us anyway.
    (dunno)

RE: Not that I would like to see Hughes in a red shirt

If you climb into a car pissed, anything that happens from that point on cannot be classed as an accident, he made the decision willingly knowing what carnage he could ultimately cause. Therefore my belief is that anyone in that position should be charged with murder.........but thats probably another debate.
Yes I feel Lee Hughes should be prevented from plying his given trade................don't ask me to rationalise it. Tho I'm glad someone else doesn't want to see him drag our club through the gutter.

RE: I'm not defending what he did in any way

His wife provided him with a false alibi and hid him for a period of time until he turned himself in. He still had a high level of alcohol in his system when he turned himself in, but was under the limit. Maybe I'm jumping to a false conclusion............doubt it tho, the Judge didnt think so either.......

"Judge Christopher Hodson said he had no doubt Hughes, a married father-of-two, had fled the accident scene because he knew he would fail a breath test".

I fully agree exiled. If you choose to break the law in such a way that you know you are endangering others then the charge should be murder

I don't think you are somehow

unless he had a couple to drink before going to the police station. Wasn't it in the national newspapers BEFORE he handed himself in anyway? So he had no choice but to do so
