Like to think we would look for experience.

    Well..

You can't exclude Davey for me.

I would give him at least another few games..

7 points from 9 is excellent form in this league. If he gets us another 5 or 6 points from the next three games, I would give him the job until the end of the season and review then.

Well done so far, remember today we were left a bit short of players!

the trouble with a lot of the available experienced managers

is that a lot of that experience has been failure

    I would act now.

Hull are going to be looking for a manager soon, Davey is not the man to inspire me at all. Performances have ben poor in general, great we have got points but the way we are playing i dont think it will last long.

No experienced manager can present an accurate CV without

Some failures on it . That is why , if Gordon Shepherd goes for experience , it is unlikely the appointment will be met with universal approval . For every name put forward , there is going to be someone who will say , "We don't want X , he failed at club Y".
My personal choice is Ian Dowie , but , again , there are a good many fans who wouldn't touch him with a barge pole .

I don't think the board are in any great hurry to appoint. Davey

will have another couple of games to stake his claim I reckon. He's very much in the driving seat at the moment.

so are you wanting a "NAME" then..Davey is showing promise.

so why exclude him. 3 games.. 5 goals for 2 against.. 2 clean sheets. and 7 from 9 points....so again , why exclude the lad, he is doing ok.He is doing his talking with his performances.

Even if Davey doesn't get the job

I think it's fair to say he's won respect from everyone connected with the club . Should he return to his Acadamy duties , I have every confidence that our youth are in good hands .

Leeds and Southend are both poor, but in our situation these are the sort of games that are the really high pressure ones, which are vital to get points from if we're going to survive. On the run that we'd been on with the amount of late goals conceded, I really wasn't fancying the chances of our nerve holding for the full 90 minutes in either match. Glad they've gone out and proved me wrong.

    Experience or a rising star?

I cant see why Simon Davey shouldn't get the job if he continues this little run. Lets get to January and then see what his plans are for taking the Club forward.
It would be very difficult for any manager to follow Davey if we just go for experience. What would be the point of bringing in someone from outside the Club if Davey continues to keep this form going?
