Got to be honest, we can't score goals, can't keep clean sheets, not a good mix for gaining points. Next few games are against teams who we don't have the best of records against. I don't think we will get anything from our trips to London & for me, we need to target the PNE & Reading games at home to gain a few points. I honestly can't see us getting anything in Jan, really difficult games, Sunderland is the easiest, but i see Coleman sorting them out by then. February has us playing teams around us & the fowls, that will be the pivotal month & could decide our fate. I have us down for 3 points in Dec & 1 point in Jan. Just hope i'm miles out, but i just can't see us doing owt against the teams coming up.......
I think our best chance is vs Brentford. Fulham will murder us again, Preston are solid so we'd do well to get a point and Reading always beat us at home (as well as beating us 3 nil a couple of weeks back) so it's looking bleak.
No Idea the way we have played the last 5 games its hard to see another one this year, but who knows -possibly on Saturday as we have a decent record against Brentford and they are a bit fragile at the back I cant see a hope of anything at Fulham so its probably going to be there
Bolton away gave cause for concern. They are the ones we should hope to compete with. Bolton were poor, and we seemed to go through them with ease during the second half. They were wobbling at 2-1 but we just didn't give their keeper much to do other than make the odd routine save. Problem is, that was our most creative game in this run of 5. At the back, we're pretty much as we've been all season. Not clearing our lines, making errors and inviting the opposition on.
If that turns out to be accurate, 4 points between now and February, then we may well be bottom of the table by then.
In 1982 (the same season as the Brighton game) we went five games without scoring then beat Chelsea 2-1. When Davey was manager and we played Doncaster we were hopeless and losing 1-0, then won 4-1. All runs come to an end, usually not when you expect them to.
Agree Jami. Our best chance of points would appear to be against Brentford and Preston. Fulham seem to be getting into their stride. Reading are two up at half time at home against Cardiff City tonight, so I think we might struggle against them yet again.
