The occasion and the camera's just seemed to attract so much scum. Some scenes were embarassing. Not throwing the ball back, throwing things on the pitch, running on the pitch, mindless shouting obscenities at Peter Beagrie during him being interviewed. Even the club with its petty final call to supporters who were remaining in the ground to applaud the players when warming down. Basically saying we'd spoiled it for ourselves cos of a dozen or so individuals. BFC; a dozen or so ran on the pitch last night and you acted like a sulking kid and spoiled it for us remaining fans..do you really think that by not bringing the players back out because a dozen or so fans entered the field is going to prevent further pitch invasions in the future? It will do the exact opposite. It will always happen now because fans know they're not going to come back out anyway. What a disapointing night. I suppose I'm on a bit of a moan at the minute but its probably the way I feel. Just feels like we don't belong in the playoffs this season. Everything from the ticket fiasco to last nights disapointment.....but..... Half time though and hopefully at Hudds our fans will be out in force. Hopefully they will be the ones that travel all over the country giving them the support that they need and want. Hopefully we can score an early goal and give Hudds a scare. We need our strikers more than ever. We also need our midfield who have great ability but need to be scoring more goals. We need some luck maybe? Heres hoping, fingers crossed. Moan over...sorry 'bowt that! Paolo
Oooohhhh almost forgot Are the stewards instructed not to approach fans these days? I remember a few years ago if fans ran on the pitch the stewards would chase them and drag them off. Couldn't they have done that last night? Or would that have left gaps for more to get through?!! And what was with the police tape?!! The stewards near me had it pinched between their thumb and finger holding it as high as their knees!!! What was that going to do ?!!! The stewards made no attempt whatsoever to prevent fans entering the playing area. The idiots that ran on the pitch were braindead. That twit who came off last towards the Ponty to chants of ****** wants a good kicking! It was an embarassing shambles! Even the halftime legends were a little disapointing. Fair to say....I seriously need to get that game out of my system and forget about the WHOLE thing. Paolo
RE: Oooohhhh almost forgot I wondered about the police tape and thought afterwards if people crossed the tape they would be prosecuted, Don't agree about the legends, thought they did well to get 3 ex-players at short notice, Barry Murphy got an excellent reception.
Agreed Also, maybe just coincidence but when the atmosphere was hot and the crowds were chanting, Huddersfield upped a gear. We seemed to relax more. Just hope we are really up for the away leg.</p>
The thing that worries me Thing that worries me is if we were to get promoted is how we would deal with being in the bigger league again with big teams coming every week, larger attendances, more tv coverage etc etc We have a new board and it seems sometimes they struggle with the little club we have now and it makes me wonder whether they're ready yet to take the club forward and make us as a club bigger. Everything since we have reached the playoffs has seemed amateurish as you said and small time. I'm not criticising, may sound that way but I just worry in case we do get through. I hope many, many lessons can be learned from this. Paolo
dickheads on the pitch making us look like morons was bad but For me bringing horses onto the field of play was totaly OTT and made us look even bigger Tits!!!!!!!!!!!! what where they thinking? If anything is going to incite a riot its attitudes like that. Outside the courthouse after the game there were lines of pigs in riot gear all stood there eyeing the public avin a beer - no hassle or anythign until they put in an appearand. they then stood there eyeing everyone up, filming and basic creating an atmosphere. Before you knew it there were bottles getting launched at them. Although we lost there as no animocity last night - well i didnt feel any. We lost fair n square. The ref had a good game and we had no complaints. Yet the acts of the coppers just incites hatred. Dickheads.
RE: Oooohhhh almost forgot Agree about Murphy. Suppose I was expecting a few more, maybe Redders or Higgy for the big occasion. Explain your ****** reply please mate, elaborate a little! Interesting to know others opinions. Paolo
lol ff ticket fiasco fans running ont pitch missiles gettingthrown hosses on pitch riot coppers ont pitch sub standard defending ball missing midfield strikers not getting a sniff a well below par performance - 20-30% below standard as admitted by ritchie No tell me it wasnt a poor show on and off the field. We are just lucky to be still in the tie.
RE: lol It was'nt amateurish though,Huddersfield had their best performance of the season,we under performed and we are only 1-0 down.A few people on the pitch! so what they will be on camera and if they had been wrestled to the ground and smacked about by the stewards it would have provoked more trouble and complaints of heavy handedness. As for the tickets,if you think the system was amateurish speak to a Middlesbrough fan about UEFA Final tickets.
Police Line was intended to provoke thought i.e. "oh yes, it's a criminal offence to cross a police line, so I won't do it...." - well, most of the people who ran on pitch looked like they couldn't read anyway........ Not enough Stewards to bring them back off the pitch - this needs looking at. BUT......The last kid off the pitch got 3,000 Ponty fans chanting ******* at him, so at least 3,000 cared to give a bollocking.........
The lad who would'nt give the hudds player the ball back at the front of the eaststand always sits there, what a ***** though.
