According to YP article

"Stephen McPhail, Danny Nardiello, Antony Kay, Chris Shuker, Bobby Hassell and Nick Colgan are all out of contract this summer and entitled to leave on free transfers."

the problem we have now is that those players can demand more cash as opposed to ofering them contracts at xmas ,surely they knew who they wanted to keep by then.

Anyone can demand

doesn't mean they'll get though.

I would think they knew what would be offered a few months ago depending on which division we were in.

And of those

I am fairly sure all but McPail and Shuker want to stay and we will do deals to keep them (possible exception of Carbon who we might not want to keep)

Shuker has a problem as the clubs sniffing round him last season were league 1 clubs so he can go back into that awful league if he wants but I think he will stay. To be honest though if he goes I dont think its a great loss.

The one I think will go is McPhail - if another championship club likely to be at the top end of the table (ie not Washday) comes in with better terms that we offer I would expect him to go as its likely to be a relegation scrap if he stays with us. Cant say I'd blame him really either. Hope I am wrong like

One thing though Farnham is that he is so highly rated by Ritchie and they may pull out all the stops to keep him if Ritchie puts up a fight. On the other hand, I keep thinking of what Sturrock said and Mr Owl coming home after every match devestated because they were so bad. I don't think Washday won a match up until after Xmas. They came to form at the end and did just enough to stay up. It's going to be tough and we need to keep hold of our better players.

I'd be more gutted to lose Reid or Hayes.

We'll just have to wait..

And bite our nails.
Hopefully after satdy and today Mcphail will wont to stay.
he should know he will be playing first team football, first choice on teamsheet, so thats got to be in our favour, also he's settled in barnsley and well liked by all.
But we'll just have to wait and see...

Seeing as I think McPhail was on £20k a week (£18k a week by Leeds and £2k a week by us) then I can see if Leeds want him they might not think twice to offer him £18k to actually be playing for them rather than somewhere else!

I doubt we could offer more than £5k.
