"We've never split the stand before" - We have on a few occasions "We only sold 11,400 for the Fleetwood game" - It was the JPT "We only sold 25k for Wembley and a % were daytrippers" It was 23k, it was the JPT our lowest following to Wembley, we'll sell more for a play off. http://www.upthesaddlers.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=49369&sid=4ca55c9c89537f4c4f2fa6891399565f&start=30 Not expecting a sell out but l'm thinking we could have 13-14 home fans with these prices. The home ends only hold under 16,500 with segregation, the club may be looking how sales go.
i remember sitting in that stand about 15 years ago with barnsley fans but dont know if it was split or they gave free tickets to kids because i was only about 10 back then
That's right it was split, and it was away fans in one side and school kids in the other. I forget who we were playing but it was a team with only a few hundred supporters, the concourse was shut off halfway underneath the stand. It wasn't long after it was built. We have also given the whole of the stand to school kids and put the away lot in the West at another game, l seem to recall it may be against Colchester during their championship spell.
I went to a christmas/new year fixture and sat in north when it was split. West Brom rings a bell, but could be wrong. This would probably have been about 2000
Our last game we had 12,021 there with a few hundred Colchester fans, that lads going to get a shock at this attendance.
Their fans seem quite nice and switched on which is refreshing. Except that guy tried to claim we are a B team because of loans (???)
The day the north stand opened was the last match of 1999 against Port Vale and the half next to the East Stand was allocated to home fans, £10 for adults and free for kids (if I remember right). That was the only time I've been in it although I remember walking round the ground to the old "slag-heap" terrace back in the 70s before segregation. I went to Wath Grammar school and a lot of my mates were Rotherham fans, we said hello near half-way in the Brewery stand when we swapped ends at half time.
Went to Palace at home and Chettle missed a penalty and was in one side of north with palace friend looking at their fans
They seem to be getting mixed messages regarding their ticket allocation of 2,000. Some are expecting this to be increased, once they've been sold (which is what I'd expect to happen), but some of their ticket office staff seem to be giving messages that the 2,000 is the full allocation, possibly due to the stand being split. I'd be very surprised if we split the stand, but I'm puzzled as to why we've only allocated them 2,000 tickets if there was never a likelihood of us doing so. Why not give them the full allocation if that's what we're ultimately going to allow them to take up?
I sat in the north stand for the Blackburn game in 2000. Won 3-1 and I stung the bookie proper for correct score and foolishly predicting Tinkler to get the first.
I sat in North Stand for I think a league cup first round home match against Halifax Town when they had Lee Butler and Redders both playing for them.
I sat in the north stand in 2000ish, when I got a free ticket from school. We beat Grimsby iirc. I think Tinkler scored in that one as well. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Actually, it looks like it was proberly Port Vale, before the stattos pull me up. Tinkler with a near post header from a corner. We did Rovers 5-1 that season, North stand may also been open to Reds fans. The club was doing promotions that season, I got a £5 ticket with my NUS card, £5 too for unwaged. We had 18,000 for the Blackburn match, we were flying at the time - BRUCE DYER ON FIRE!! Great side to watch, we did nowt by halves under Harry.
Colchester home we lost 3-0.. I was sat in North stand with daughter. Colchester had Iwelumo, Curetonand Dans In their team. Very good team. Almost certain Colchester fans were in other side of stand
FAN!!!???? He seems to be pulling fans and club down IMO. We a bunch of loanees and there the ones keeping us afloat and winning games for us!!! ,failed to mention the major injuries we have had to key players throughout the season for a small squad including loanees. Only took 25,000 to Wembley and they were day trippers ,ffs how many other clubs in this league and in championship would have taken more for a JPT final? And who hasn't got day trippers to such games or does Oxford regularly have 33,000 at their home games.? Sounds like a jealous pikey to me.
I see a lot of their fans saying if we only give them 2,000 they should give us 1,000 or even just a corner. Lets match it up and give them the exact same. Give them the top tier of the half of the west stand. Also, how many did Walsall take to Wembley last year? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
they'll give them an initial allocation to keep them to 1 side of the stand, then release further as and when required so easier to police/steward
"We're not really playing Barnsley then, more like a Premier League, Championship and League 1 select 11" clown
