When I had thebar in Donny the manager caused all kinds of problems. The only way I could handle it properly, learn from it and move on was to blame myself for setting him on.
I don't think Davey's up to the job and I blame the board for sticking with him.

Mmmm, fair point, personally i blame the Players they don't fight enough? after seeing them at Liverpool - and against Chelsea when all the juices was rising they fought like a Gypsy, but at the other end of the scale against lesser teams they roll over and say **** it its not worth owt....Not to them maybe but to my two grandsons it fecking means the world the basterds....Davey should kick their arses hard and proper, and drop them for the semis and put the reserve team forward for the seasons highlight **** em.... PS I'm both pissed and stoned and loving it....
Heh heh, the only consolation for losing....
...is there's always a good tear-up on the board,

Davey's for inept substitutions ie losing 1-0 so we throw on a midfielder and no striker, not using Christensen even though hes the best we have along with Macken but when the players are on that pitch they should take a certain amount of responsibility for the performances. ie. the weather is the same for both teams
I'm with you on that These players have shown they can do it, they fought and battled against Liverpool and Chelsea, but they aren't doing it in the league, ok I guess it could be argued that it means Davey can't motivate them but overall it's down to the players. But great....seems we are down to calling for a manager to be sacked once again without them having a complete season....the more things change the more they stay the same!
the "complete season" argument has never washed with me. A manager could take over after one game of the season and get sacked one game from the end of the following season, he has basically had 2 years in the job but by the 'complete season' argument he shouldnt be sacked because he hasnt managed for a season.
Re: Whose fault is it.........None of those listed.........the problems go back further than that The problems still lie at the feet of Andy Ritchie for not strengthing the squad when he had the chance. Consequently...........this is what has happened Davey appointed and thrown head first into the deep end, we are in the bottom 3 and it looks a certainty we will get relegated Davey makes emergency signings Davey just managed to get the team clear of relegation DAVEY IS LEFT AT THE END OF LAST SEASON WITH A CRAP SQUAD Davey gets rid of 90% of the crap squad and starts again to rebuild the team Davey brings in players from all over the world and hopes they will gell Davey has signed some fantastic players this season Davey brings in some loan players............and we are pushing FOR PROMOTION The loans come to an end, players go back..............the club free falls down the league Davey with the backing of the directors signs the loanees..........fantastic signings But De Silva a key player gets injured The team do great things in the FA Cup and with a weakened team because of players that are cup tied or injured the spot light turns to the cup and away from the league In conclusion - because of the turmoil left last season by Ritchie we have not had any continuity in the team this season
We have already established that andy ritchie wasn't supported in signing players and that he DID make loan signing but was sacked before having the chance to play them. ie the 'emergancy signings' of SD were in fact ritchies players, or one of them at least.
Shep said to me that he had offered Ritchie money and players and he turned him down Now we know Shep can't quarentee turnstiles being open at the ground on the day of a match, but on the Rithie thing I beleive him As for Ritchie, he said on the official board - he wanted to give his players a chance in this league - that statement (the one I call the buddy buddy statement) has put the club in the position we see today
The official site listed many players that the previous manager tried to sign. Every week there was a story from the official site saying barnsley are targetting player x or andy ritchie approaches for player y. they were all followed up by 'we have been unsuccesful in signing...' or 'we were unable to meet the demands of' This to me says that players were targetted but money or something else wasnt there to secure the signings. And it lookes very different to how it appears this season where davey has named some seemingly random player at the other side of the world and half a million was made available.
If Ritchie had brought in 5 or 6 championship players when he had the chance........then If Ritchie had been sacked, although if he brought those players in I dont think he would have been sacked, then whoever took over at the club would have had a base to work from Davey has not had any foundation to start building a team He has had to start from scratch If we don't get relegated and De Silva and Muller come back.......you just watch us go next season
Change the feckin record FFS Ritchie fecked up with signings...there's little doubt about it. Davey has fecked up with his failure to sign a bleeding striker that can score regularly.
RE: Change the feckin record FFS........the strikers are a prime example If there had been a base to work from Davey could have signed a couple more But NOPE..............he tried to get Nardia but he left So he had to start again with only one striker (Stan), who he had signed as an emergency. He had too prepare for the following season and bring in Kay, Mostto, Christensen, Maken......and get Nardia back on loan. These circumstances were also seen throughout the squad So surely everyone can see that this is not the best preparation for the start of a Championship season (dunno)
Davey has no excuses if we go down - he has been backed and it is HIS squad now This has got nothing to do with Ritchie. If we go down it will be his fault - money seemingly wasted on Christensen, Mostto and to some extent Odejayi - near on £1m
For what Davey has done this season..........I wouldn't have given him a 4 year contract I'd have given him a 6 year contract (Y)
