it was the fault of the midfield-Perkins started to come out to close the crosser down but then stopped-this allowed him all the time in the world to pick his cross-and Sorvell finished it well

don't normally respond to fishing of this sort but Bobby Hassell, if that is who you are suggesting was at fault since sat in the Ponty end I couldn't really see, was absolutely immense today as usual. Covered people fantastically, got stuck in and was up and down the wing helping attacks as well, should be first name on the teamsheet and captain and that is what 99% of Barnsley fans think; faced with that weight of opinion which you hear in the stands and see on this board it might be time to accept you are wrong.

It is no coincidence that Paul Hart, Andy Ritchie, Simon Davey, Mark Robins and Keith Hill have all continued to pick him and with the latter managers have been forced to change their mind on this and pick him again having thought about dropping him

Drinkwater for not dealing with the lofted ball. But the midfield could have closed down the passer and also we weren't picking up when it was pulled back. I would say it was the CB area.

    It's a team game

So there's no reason to continually find one person to blame.

But the runner was left by Drinkwater.

How about having a no blame culture on this forum

The team as a whole played very well today.

We had enough chances in the first half to have been 3 or 4 nil up at half time.

Some times they go in and sometimes they don't.

If I could criticise the team today its our failure to get bodies into the box. Playing a lone striker isn't going to work unless 2 or 3 of the midfield attack the space in and around the box when we are attacking.

But it's still early doors and there is a lot more to come from this team.

If you want to blame one player then it was Drinkwater but that wouldnt be fair

He could have easily headed the ball out but I think he thought it was going out anyway and left it

But you can also blame Perkins for letting the guy have a free cross
Foster and McNulty for not marking in the centre and anyone else in the team for not shouting to Drinkwater to warn him of the player behind.
