Why are Arsenal playing in all white?

Seems odd that

 

Campaign against knife crime and youth violence

 

Think it to raise awareness/combat knife crime somehow?

They did play in all white last season for a game. Can't remember if it was for the same campaign

The commentator over here said it was their "Drained of Red" kit, to support the campaign(s) documented above.

 

I think it's because they are massive fans of Michael Barrymore, and their kit is a homage to his most famous catchphrase

 

Just another nonsense token gesture. We all abhore knife crime. Some pampered sportsmen wearing a fancy kit means nothing at all to the local nutter who ia prepared to stab someone to death.

 

No but it might just make some young kid think twice about going out with a knife if their favourite footballer is part of the csmpaign.

 

We'd all love that to be the case but it really won't unfortunately.
