Cause they gave the miners a good bashing in the 80's?

remember the first time we played em, they kicked **** out of anything that moved in the pubs before the game

    I know, but we regrouped

and they got alot more than they bargained for. At that time the Barnsley lads were strong hard working brick **** houses. The boys from the smoke got a decent pasting if i remember correctly. It was after that match that Barnsley got a reputation for having a large hooligan element. That's why Chelsea, West Ham, Sunderland and Newcastle brought all their crews to Barnsley!
