Why are people being so precious about Howard and the Statement?

Brian Howard mentally left this club the sunday it was reported Everton and Bolton wanted to sign him. Those reports have proven to be unfounded as neither club have made an offer for him.

The club have issued a statement saying that no bids were received for him in the summer. Whether that is because of the price we put on his head or the fact Brian Howard is not and never will be a successful premiership player.

The statement issued clears up all questions I personally had. Brian Howard has said he will not sign a new contract at Barnsley, even before knowing what was going to be offered. As such he neither wants to play for Barnsley now or from the end of next season.

The statement say if anyone has bid for him - which is a wise move. It gives clubs half thinking about making a move a chance to come in and bounce any offer (if any) made. It also helps drive the price up. A statement saying Brian Howard is joining sheff utd this week would not generate such interest.

Get over it. Players will come and leave. Brian has chosen to persue his career elsewhere and good luck to the lad. Thanks for the memories, but if you dont want to be here then thats just what you are Brian, a memory - and not one such as Redfearn, Ward, Hendrie et al who were true legends of this club.

    Imagine that

Folk getting wound up because one of our best players of the past 2 seasons has been sold to a local rival.

Eeh I don't know, there's some unreasonable people about. It's almost as if they're bothered about Barnsley FC.

It's a shame Howard chose not to keep playing like our best player over the last two years. If Da Silva had not been injured Howard would have gone much earlier. He is totally unprofessional in his attitude and has **** on the fans by not putting in the effort this season. The Club is well shut of the big time Charlie. It's funny but when he's left out of the team they play better.

There's some pretty strong accusations being levelled at Howard on here.

Barnsley fans, salt of the earth.

Not half as many as are aimed at the Club and Davey.

How long is it since a certain player was asked to leave a local pub because of his drunken unacceptable behavior?

    Here we go.

And that has what to do with his top scoring, most assists exploits last season ?
