    You should not "piss about to fill the screen" as you are then just distorting and stretching the picture! :((

    On Sky tonight though the Barca and Bayern games are in widescreen - first time I think that non UK games in CL have been on in widescreen.

    No it's not

    It's called watching in the correct aspect.

    I find a decent compromise is to use the 14:9 zoom option...cuts about a centimetre or 2 top and bottom and just leaves narrow black lines either side, you don't end up distorting the picture. I use that on the American sport - though emailed Sky to see if they have any intention of getting the High Def, widescreen feed from the US.

    Don't get me started on TV shops not being able to set them up properly and then you get people saying they don't like widescreen as it makes everyone look fat! Mind you - at least you have your digital feed set for widescreen if you are getting the black lines before messing about....number of people I've come across that don't even have that right!
