Why are there no football league matches?

    Does anyone know why no football league matches are being played today?

    They should have played today instead of sunday/monday.

    Probably because fa cup is close - I know premier league is playing but I can see most playing weakened sides on Saturday - some pretty safe games for the majority of them

    A lot will play Sunday as well I reckon, I haven't checked so I don't know...Prem sides tend to shuffle their squads for cup matches anyway.

    There's only 4 PL sides playing in the cup Saturday too, and 2 of them play each other.
