is it midfield not pulling their weight or defence not up to the job?

The second goal today was all down to midfield - "Man of the match" Watkins gave the ball away with a slack pass and while he chased back he still let the player pass to the guy who scored, who Hammill had given up chasing somewhere in the middle of the park

    Wasn't that Pearson?

I think the fault lay with those who were marking the men on the edge of the box.

First was down to our captain watching a player a good few inches shorter than him head the ball, Why he didn't attempt a challenge only he knows. The second was midfield letting players run past them.

You can only be out jumped if you actually jump yourself. He didn't attempt to leave the ground, he just watched.

Yeah, meant Pearson - still it was the midfields fault, there was no time to mark the player running onto the ball, Hammill had given it up.

This is the worst mid field I have seen for many years, and that includes a fit Scowen.
