talking to loads of the scum leeds and weds and there all saying we are interbred and are known round the country for it, is it jealousy?,,,, if not would you care to exlain
Maybe its because we have the lowest rate of movement in the Country. I read somewhere that people who live in Barnsley are much less likely to move away from the area than anywhere else in the country.

i think its because we are proud of wer we are from and wouldnt move for anything, barnsley threw n threw thats what i am, and it should be the same for everyone else
Just the usual ignorant football fan At work on Friday, as it's casual wear on a Friday and I have 2 Leeds fans sat near me, I had my Barnsley polo shirt on. Had one of the software testers come to see me and he said "I didn't know you were a dingle", cheeky twit!I just said "Where are you from then", He was a Wednesday fan.
The like it here brigade. If you have never lived anywhere else for more than a couple of weeks, how do you know that Barnsley is better. There's quite a few places that I would prefer to Barnsley. To name just two at different ends of the country. Doncaster and Southsea.
They're just a bunch of Fowl/White Sh*te tossers? I use that answer in response to global warming too.
It's what's known as an insult. It's the opposite of mixed breed which is prevalent in Leeds and Sheffield.
Old Adolf would call us a true Arian race but then that would be racist.

We're a "brigade" now are we? Excellent. You almost make it sound like there's something wrong in liking the place where you were born and raised. I have never had the inclination to move anywhere else - Barnsley's my home and has been the home of my family for nearly two centuries. For all it's problems it has, undeniably, it's charms and a great history and sense of tradition. Although I don't agree with Ritchie_is_god's belief about it having to be the same for everyone else (and his persistant re-telling of jokes that belong in the previous century certainly doesn't help our image as a community) I certainly can associate with his pride and passion for his home-town.
Don't think so... Once had a dog who's pedigree showed the same parent on either side of her family-line - does that count?
RE: Don't think so... Going back 2 centuries? the dog I mean. What the city boy morons forget is that Pudsey, Garforth, Chapeltown etc are even more parochial than Tarn
Oh aye... Her great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was first dog to take a piss against the first ever lampost in Town. Proud tradition my dog's family... I've spent three years at uni in Sheffield and I'm doing my final year - if you've ever walked down the Manor on giro day it's like a scene from the X-Files. And their chavs make our chavs look like PhD graduates...
Spent sometime living in Kelvin flats in early 80's Land of the living dead. And Gipton in Leeds... still scraping knuckles and walking barefoot
I read that as you having spent some time living in Kelvin's flat! And if you ever stood on the Ponty near a guy named Kelvin, who made Young Nudger seem the most positive Barnsley fan ever, you'd realise my shock!
