cos they are no longer a part of the match so they cannot be in view of the pitch

I'm not a part of the match but i'm allowed to be in view of the pitch.

I've never understood the rule either, can't think of one logical argument that stops a sent off player fro
m being allowed to sit in the stands. A manager who has essentially been sent off is allowed to sit in the stands, so are substitutes who have been 'carded' before coming on but a player given a red on the pitch isn't even allowed to watch the match. bizarre

No, if a manager gets sent off (Like laurie Sanchez was) they have to go to the dressing room or the ref can order them to the stands instead if the offence is less

Actually I've just read the laws of the game on FIFA's website and if a player, substitute or manager is sent off then they are banned from the playing area and the technical area. No mention at all of being banned from the stands or anywhere else, they just aren't allowed on the pitch or in the dugout.

They go for a shower and get changed you berk, you do occasionally see subbed or sent off players appear in the stands or exec boxes but who would be arsed? You'd just get your ear bent over the incident and in some cases like Bobby Hassell's recent red card, you'd just want to go bury your head for a bit. :)

Are you sure? I've seen players attempt to sit in the stand before only to be directed to the tunnel by the fourth official and i've seen players for both england and Barnsley attempt to watch from the tunnel but get told to go out of sight down the tunnel.

I am fairly sure that they are allowed to watch if they do so as a fan and not in any way related to their status as a player - so if they for example appear in the directors box that is OK - but they cant watch from the tunnel or bench. I think the idea is they are no longer part of the game. Same applies to a suspended player they cant sit on the bench either.

Pretty sure you are allowed to sit in the stand, just not in the dugout areas as I believe this is still kind of the playing area.
