The fact is we know we aint going to sign Craig Moore, Arjan de Zeeuw, Richard Wright, Titus Bramble or even Chris Barker are we?

If we sign anybody, we will sign unknowns from abroad or players from lower leagues cos the fact is we WONT or CAN'T AFFORD to pay the same wages as other Championship clubs or even match some of the League One/Two clubs, and we won't 'speculate to accumulate' by bringing in the more expensive players to try and put extra bums on seats, cos we never do and it probably wouldn't work anyway!

Until I see different, then it's East European cheap labour and graduates of the Dwayne Mattis school of footballing excellence.

 

Id be disappointed if we cant compete with Colchester

for wages. given that their average gate is below ours and the number of players we've released, for do's if the player decides for personal reasons, but I dont accept that we cant match or better what some other Championship clubs have to offer. now whether the managers strategy is to stay foreign for attitude and other reasons, understand that, and you probably get more for your money lets face it. but I still think we should and will be sniffing round some of the experienced pros that are being made available.

........ to compete with! but I take your point and yes we should be sniffing around some experienced pros/defenders but that's all we do, get 'linked', or put a public token bid in, for someone like DeZeeuw (to appease the fans) then state that he's asking for more than we can pay.

We've always been the same, with or without available funds, we are always 'interested' in everybody who's got a good reputation ... then sign loads who are cheap and hope they turn out to be ok!

 

Colchester will go down next season (in my view.)

It's to be hoped we can compete with them, on and off the pitch, else it's reight poor.
