Why Can't you take Bin Lids in to Preedy's Bar?

    This seems rather strange to thereev....... are they not allowed to sell pop and crisps? Is it boozers only allowed..... how very 1970's.

    Where I agree with it not being a suitable place for under 7's (running about and being a nuisance) or something near to that age, what would be wrong with a parent being able to take his football loving kid to the bar? They could then sit and watch the Sky game and then watch the super reds.

    All this time, the parent would be spending money on a drink/food for themselves AND the kid...... yes folks, this money making is not rocket science. The way it is now the club are effectively barring anyone going in to the bar who attends Oakwell with a kid.

    And excuse me for harping back to an old point but the more BFC encourages kids to use their facilities, the more chance those kids will come back with their own kids etc etc etc.

    The membership fee is a joke n all..... do the people who run these things have any fooking idea whatsoever?

    thats way too sensible to be a post of the real reev, should we contact the authorities to report a kidnappin, although am struggling to think of anyone who would actually want to kidnap him :confused:

    I can only assume that the place isn't big enough. I'd love to go and take my young lad for a pre-match drink, but the no kids policy prevents me.

    always an option..... but i couldn't do it in Preedy's cos the don won't let me bring him in ..... so here it is folks and i will say it slowly... I WILL SPEND MY MONEY ELSEWHERE ..... do you get it now dear old decision makers at bfc?

    Somebody did as it happens. DR said that it was felt that a bar should be for Over 18s and didn't want kids subjected to swearing etc.
    As a side point when we have discussed this point before the club said that they have sold preedy's to its members as a kid free venue and wouldn't go back on that.

    If The Don doesn't want young children subjected to swearing maybe he should ban them from Oakwell as well. If you are so against children being around swearing it should be all or nothing.

    Surly that's up to the discretion of the parents - If they found the language too much, then they wouldn't take them there again. Can't be any worse than what's said in the stadium.

    Looks like spending my money elsewhere then.

    I've said this a few times on here but carlisle have the best set up I've seen. Sky sports, kids , good beer, free entry and a good friendly atmosphere. Been in there with a mate on a few occasions and always feel welcome - if anything it's too popular. Maybe they should take a look at how they do it

    just another example that barnsley fc stopped being an inclusive 'community' club a long time ago. As pointed out many other clubs do not see this as a problem.

    a simple answer would be this

    make a second bar making it a "families" lounge and then we have a bar that is adults only.There must be loadsa room under the stands to be able to do summat like that. Cost is the only factor , of the initial set up that is.

    Is it open after the game too?....that would attract a few punters surely....to discuss the game.

    Maybe if thereev made the odd guest appearance (to put you straight about what happened on the field and who was man of the match etc) it would boost takings.
