(thought I'd start a new thread about Adam Hammill because if PC looks at this message board then could he ask Keith to take a look at Hammill) Hammill is on the transfer list FFS.............i.e. he's not wanted After seeing him play for Middlesborough i would imagine no other team in the Championship will want him either. When he's sat on his a'se at home at the start of the season and someone like Barnsley then offers him £3000 per week; whats he going to do? I know what I would do if there was a choice between watching Jeremy Kyle everyday while sat on the setee munching through a packet of ginger buscuits...........or earning £3000 per week. Other than the highly sort after players; its a buyers market now. But the management team need to be able to sort through the cart load of chaff to pick out the grains of quality. And we have just the management team at the WELL that is able to do just that. .........we have had Rochdale old boys........its about time we brought a Barnsley old boy back to the team.......because Hammill makes Vaz Te look pedestrian See link below (And yes I know that I posted the same link only a few weeks ago but its well worth watching again. The music is terrific by the way - who is it by?). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bABYmY4Yag8&playnext=1&list=PLE6835810C55F51E1&feature=results_video
a) far too much flair in hammill for Keefy's liking b) no rochdale link c) prefers plodders who run around like headless chickens hth
Would love Hammill back at Oakwell, but guess we can only dream. Not sure whether he would fit into the Hill 'mould' of player though. If he did and Hill was interested, the next problem would be how much Hammill wanted to come back and play 1st team football. He'd have to take a massive drop in wages, even if we paid the maximum we can.
Personally I prefer Vaz Te to Hammill, so to claim he makes him look pedestrian is a bit OTT. I would love Hammill back though.
Other clubs will offer him way more than 3k BUT i'm seeing your point and think we could at least give other clubs a run for their money in trying to get him. Firstly they signed a good player off us for only 500k. Now they don't want him on the wagebill and he's done nothing in his time away from us so they would probably be happy with a small fee say 100-200k. He would have to take a wagecut but we can use the Norwood money to bump his wages due to his low transfer fee, he might well be interested in coming back to where he had his best days and his signing would sell some season tickets.
Malaury Martin, also not wanted by anyone, still tried to hold us to ransom. Reckon there will be a fair few clubs looking at Hammill.
