About two minutes before Hume got sent off he lost possession right in front of Davey and started banging his hands on the floor in temper, having another little outburst like the one that saw him pick up his first yellow. I said to the lads I was sat with that Davey needs to bring him off because he's going to get himself sent off, but no, he left him on and sure enough...

We had two strikers on the bench and we needed to change something up front anyway. Just beggars belief that something can be signposted so obviously, but the manager can't see it. But then again, he's the only person who thinks that playing players out of their own position is a good thing!

Souza has played left back for us before, so why play both Hassell and Foster out of position, where they are both looking uncomfortable. Then again, we have a perfectly decent left back in Kozluk...

aye top six in October/ November

and then stripped of Muller and Da Silva.

That, in my opinion, is when then season went downhill.

As I've stated, I'm not particularly a fan of Davey.

To me the first objective is always not to be relegated

    anything else is a bonus.

Who would you have as manager if not Davey... now be realistic.

I don't know, I havent looked at the alternatives. And yes, obviously not getting relegated is the first thing on the list it shouldn't be our only objective, not if we are trying to progress

Ok I accept what you say. Every season we should aspire to be champions but the first couple of games in and realism kicks in. I've been watching since 74/75 and the face of football has changed beyond belief. In the 70s a failing second division team employed a manager, in 76/77 they were promoted, 77/78 they were first div champions, 78/79 and 79/80 they were European champions. Yes it was Forest and Clough, but can you imagine that now ?

The premier league is virtually a closed shop and the Championship is getting that way.

2006/7 Luton... 2 season and down. Southend 1 ..... Leeds was the shock

2007/8 Colchester 2 and Scnuthorpe 1 and Foxes the shock

It is becoming more of an achievment for the promoted clubs to just survive.... it's becoming more like premier league 2.

I don't think Mr. Cryne is expecting a relgation struggle. AFAIK, he expects the team to be much nearer mid table than last year.

Even SD stated that the cup run was a distraction, and otherwise we would have finished (a lot ?) higher.
