why did he not whistle before Rooney lashed out when he was being fouled..

    Rooney was clearly fouled and yet he let it go till the lad lost it and lashed out.

    As I saw it Rooney lost his footing - I don't think he deliberately stamped.

    Doubt if anything would have happened if that cheating Portuguese show pony hadn't stuck his oar in.
