A loan is a loan. You only loan players when they are 'surplus to requirements' I would imagine no money has changes hands, just promises. Why the hell did we not say to Wolves, Come back in January and show us the colour of your money then and we will consider the sale. Lets face it we have no player of Macindoe quality 'surplus' during the next two months.
I thought it was "loan with a view to a permenant deal in January" a sort of "sale or return" type thingy. If so let's hope for return. Sorry I I'm sounding like a cracked record over this but I really don't want us to lose Macca.
It was more a case of this I think ..... Macca - "Can we have McIndoe on loan Gord?" Gord - "You must be fecking joking Macca" Macca - "Can we have him on loan if we promise to buy him in January?" Gord - "Now yer talking .... how much?" Macca - "£XXX,XXX?" Gord - "I'll ring him now, he'll be down for talks by lunchtime at the latest ..... oh by the way mate, one other thing, can we keep this quiet till 7pm on Thursday, give me time to bring a few players in, a few sweeteners if yer like ...... before I drop this bombshell on the fans!
Nail on the head there, pal! Once again Macca Sh!ts on us just like je wouldn't loan us anyone when he was at Sunderland. His hero status is going downhill fast in my book!
Yer can't really blame Macca mate .... .... for wanting Mcindoe, he's a manager trying to get the best team he can, it's a professional business. Although I do agree that he could help us out the other way, or could have in the past, with a few loan deals. Other managers do it for certain clubs when they have a past connection
I know one thing... I'd have McCarthy as manager tomorrow if I could. Not going to happen though - for me this transfer absolutely confirms thats (not that there was much chance prior to the transfer).
His name crops up everytime we are managerless ... .... but I'm sure he has gone on record saying that he would never manage Barnsley in case it all went tits up, but lets be honest, he aint going to leave Wolves to come to Barnsley is he? If he had been out of a job for 12 months he might be forced to re-consider whether or not he wanted the job, but that would be the only scenario where we would have a chance of getting him
...and if he'd been out of the game that long, would we want him? I mean - Barnsley fans seem to expect favours out of Macca, but does Macca have a right to expect favours out of us? It's a strange relationship that one. I think he's a bloody good manager though.
RE: ...and if he'd been out of the game that long, would we want him? From what the fan base at Wolves were saying. They were not keen on Mcarthy. A few weeks ago his job was not that secure.
