What do you think they should say about it exactly?

No double standards? The same warning the home fans got?

Its always the case, away fans sing what you want were too scared to say anything in case you all kick off, home fans however, absolutely fair game let's tell them.
Has to be some consistency and balance

I didn’t hear the song so it’s a genuine question, was it racist/sexist/religious or whatever else is in the list of banned song types?

Well warning them about chants that are sexist, racist, homophobic or based on someone's religion would make no sense as it's none of those things.

It's anti English so that's okay.

You could chant "**** Tom Jones" and it'd also be okay.

They didn’t say anything over the tannoy as they don’t have to pay lip service to away chanting to avoid efl action.

They aren’t ever going to look at the cctv or involve police are they? There’s plenty to go at and they keep saying it - yet it happens every game.

At this point it’s just embarrassing, all the announcement does is fuel up the pillocks.

The club need to stop the empty threats and start getting the idiot element sorted.

Because the fa and the efl are frightened of being called racist but they can say what they want

I think it might have been more to do with his charge to the wall to hurl abuse at their players when they got a corner just before half time.

The announcements imo are to show the efl they are doing all they can to stamp out what can be seen as offensive chants. To make sure we don't get fined again. As for the away fans. Like us when away. dont get challenged.
It was always going to be the case that McClean was going to be subject of abuse. Because of his actions re his wishes to ignore remembrance. Wearing a Balaclava at home. And him winding up our lot at their place.
I would imagine every away ground where remembrance was unobserved by him, he will get the same abuse rightly or wrongly.

Nobody has ever been banned or kicked out of Oakwell, or any football stadium, for ‘singing’.

For the words they were ‘singing’ - yes I’d imagine so.

    Repeatedly embarrasses himself.

People were defending him in summer showing himself up, was it Frankfurt?

I’m sure he’s a nice fella, and to all intents and purposes harmless - but when it comes to football he’s generally a few too many drinks in, and several too few brain cells being engaged.

If that is the case then he needs to grow the **** up and sort himself out. A man is his 40s doing that is utterly embarrassing.
