that he was desperate to play against chelsea and wasn't going to put a tackle in on saturday in case he got booked??

it would have given davey the opportunity to play another player out of position in the middle of midfield.

this board is a joke at the moment re: Howard. All season he has been the scapegoat for any poor form. On Saturday he didn't bottle any tackles it's just the midfield was bypassed by long balls and no one put their foot on it.

Boo Howard, BOO! Shame on you for not getting booked!

He didn't actually say that did he, he said he was aware that a booking would have put him out of the Chelsea game though, that's not the same as him saying he pulled out of anything.
No doubt he'd have been slagged off had he done something stupid to pick up a booking as well.

Whilst on the subject - something my mate pointed out on Saturday.....how come we seem to pick up most of our bookings in the middle of the field when there isn't the same necessity to go in, whereas the opposition at least pick them up around the edge of the area. Case in point - Kozluk, both were in the middle of the field with needless challenges.

    he didn't bottle any tackles

because he never got near to putting one in.

didn't help that on one of the windiest days in years we decided to play the ball in the air rather than to feet and he spent most of the match watch it sail back and forth over his head.

Never seen Brian Howard play like that....

didnt want the ball at all and he's usually the one wanting it all the time, what can you do though. He's wanting to put himself in the shop window and play against Chelsea, really disapoointed with him hiding all game on Saturday. Cant wait for this Chelsea match to pass by and were out of the cup, maybe then the players may book their ideas up in the league.

People will always jump on Howard's back, shown that earlier in season too.

I've never jumped on Brian Howard's back

Or any other footballer come to that. I guess leapfrog just isn't my game.
