Ok for the last few weeks i have been reading posts by fans,me included about how bad life is at oakwell at the minute. So how bad is it down there? why am i not renewing my season ticket after15 years or so...why do i not attend away games anymore??well heres why 1,last season some fans say we went up a year ahead of schedule??no way we had one of the best squads in the division if anything we underachieved! ...look at our results at the run in and we still sneaked in the play offs 2, No atmosphere at oakwell anymore....blame the club for making it like that, come in sit down not flags etc etc...wheres the person employed for the entertainment at oakwell cos if someone kicking a ball into a half made shed and would fall to pieces if we kicked the ball hard enough is entertainment then my god!... tell you what entertainment would be better someone register for on me shed son and blast the ball carlos like as hard as f**k at the shed that would be the most passion shown down at the well for months 3, Club is full of S**T......box office players!!!!OMG yes in the box office to demand the money back!Never in my life have i been felt raped like this at oakwell from the board who use comments at beginning of season about our aims for the season, dont get me wrong if the board had said we have no money we will prob go down i would have still renewed my ticket, just dont like bulls**t. 4, Communication...this board dont know how to communicate to fans, when have u seen the board coming out woth honest statements about anything this season?if we have no money tell us for god sake communicate with us try and bond the fans together not divide yourself from us 5, fickle fans....fed up now of hearing the fans calling us with opinions fickle, WTF?? its called having your say, dont just sit there at the end of the match when we have showed no passion and fight and pick up yer flask put the silver foil in the bag from yer sandwichs and neatly fold yer programme in the pocket of yer coat, have an opinion! you just paid £20 to watch a bunch or unorganised players make your town look stupid. IF fans like you shut up having a go at fans that want to have an opinion then maybe the message will be put across quicker BEfore any smart arse has a go at me or my grammer etc from this thread well i dont care just like the club dont care about us paying our hard earned money into and getting sweat FA back in return...MY FOOTBALL CLUB IS DIEING AND IT HURTLS LIKE HELL
I like this bit </p> "...dont get me wrong if the board had said we have no money we will prob go down i would have still renewed my ticket, just dont like bulls**t"</p> Yes, because thats how football works. "Breaking News....BFC are sorry to announce that we won't be competing to stay in the Championship this season because we ain't got two halfpennies to rub together. We thank you for your continuing support, and hope our honesty brings a few fans back once we're relegated."</p> All they can say is that they're working within our constraints, which is what they have been saying all season.</p> And you are fickle...not because you have an opinion, but because survival this season is nolonger good enough. I don't agree with a lot of the decisions that have been made at board level, and with some inactivity, but christ, we have a financially stable football club playing in the championship. We have something to build on. You didn't seriously think that we'd get everything right first time did you- after years and years of rubbish football and damn near extincition?</p>
B*ll*cks! they told us at beginning of season they where after box office players!...survival is no longer good enough? how can you tell me thats what i am thinking u talk *****...exactly what i am onna about and i bet you have a flask
How many more times is this going to get mentioned. They didNOT say we were going to sign Box Office players.</p> And to answer your other question, you don't need to be in the know to know that we're financially stable. That doesn't mean we're rich, but we're working within budgets that keep the clubon an evenkeel. In factits that which causes a lotof aggro, because there's an arguement that we should push the boat out to finish higher in the table. I personally would have liked to have seen the money we spent later in the season on Ferenzciand othersspent before the season started. </p> </p>
What garbage! How can you say that when we have gone down in history as being the first club ever to sack a manager for allegedly refusing to spend all the money available to him!
RE: What garbage! Harrow you spoke some sense it is just some people moan for the sake of it. They would rather walk round the shopping centres of South Yorks than support the club that we have. 3 years ago things were financially so much worse than now. People have short memories.
RE: What garbage! Fair points, but how long are we supposed to be deferential to the powers that be just because they have more money than us and used some of it to stop BFC going under ? </p> But that's a red herring to be fair, I don't give a **** about who the Directors and Chairman are personally, I just want to know that they are capable of taking BFC forwards, and after they way they've managed pre season and this current campaign, I have serious doubts.</p>
i think 15years been a season ticket holder and 20 supporting barnsley gives me the right to judge the current running of the club and is appauling in all fairness...harrow if you are happy great, good for you but i'm afraid your shorty changing yourself bigtime..you are just a number to the board another sheep in the field ...think long and hard are you really happy with how the clubs been run and regarding th "box office " players beginning of seaon press conference in black and white they where afetr box office signings fair enough if they tried but imo they did'nt and ritchie was sacked for now buying ****?? Know from a VERY reliable source that this was the case and ritchie did not want to sign players that where not better than our current players and looking back he was right apart from ferenczi, but imo and from this source davey did'nt finf the player he was already been monitored from our hungary scouting schedule.
You'll have to come off the 'we saved the club' high horse soon. Fair enough, a lot of time and money has been spent by certain individuals to get us to a position where we can move forward. This does not mean that can be rammed down peoples throat continually as an excuse for the contradictory ******** that comes from the club.We were in a position at the start of the season to build on the squad we had and the introduction of a few quality players would have seen us consolidate,I have no doubt about that. Instead we have seen last seasons achievements tossed aside and have been fed a series of contradictory statements from the club, endured a manager sacked via the media, ahead of various ever changing explanations of why this was done.</p> Sorry, but you can't keep harping on about how the club was saved, that's done, everyone's grateful, but now is the time to show the fans that the club was saved for them, as was stated atthe time, and not to continue with the 'we saved the club so you can't question us' mentality which seems to be the clubscurrent attitude.</p>
and by the way 'They would rather walk round the shopping centres of South Yorks than support the club that we have.' istypical of thatpatronising attitude.
1. We did go up a year ahead of schedule, the board had stipulate a time frame during which they wanted to gain promotion, we went up with a year to spare in that timeframe, therefore we were ahead of schedule…..whether the squad was the best in the division or not doesn't make a difference to that. 2. As much down to the fans themselves, people don't come for the half time entertainment and I don't think I've known any halftime entertainment designed to get the fans going (possibly with the exception of Twin). Anyway - what happen to having majorettes?! 3. Box office players were NOT promised by the board. And I believe the aims of the board at the beginning of the season were to stay in the division. 4. Given that nobody believes them anyway then I guess they might as well not bother. 5. Every club has them, I prefer NOT to boo at the team, I apologise for that and will henceforth pick out a player who I shall hurl abuse at during every game. If he does well I shall keep my mouth shut but then castigate him again the next time he does something wrong. I'm not saying everything is well with the club because it isn't, and I think that the board made a monumental mistake in appointing Davey but with just 6 games to go survival is still in our own hands - I think if you'd offered that to most fans at the start of the season they'd have taken it.
"Box office players were NOT promised by the board". Aye. Alreeeeeeeeeeeet. Would you like to back that up? Yer gret Joey.
Cryne said it, he's not actually on the board. Mind, if he said jump then it's a safe bet that the board would be up in the air in unison.
RE: You'll have to come off the 'we saved the club' high horse "endured a manager sacked via the media"</p> </p> More ******** from Slackbladder</p>
You are correct. I bet Cryne hasn't ever been to a Board Meeting. I also bet that Dirk is 6ft 9, Jay has more money than Abrahmovic, I've got a 16" shlong & TM passes solids every day. If I ever visited the Box Office that offered tickets to see Dwayne Mattis & Grant McCann ... I wouldn't be purchasing a ticket.
One up front at home. Coaching genius? He needs that clipboard ramming straight up his harris. 0.6 points per game. Just that.
