Why do football commentators so regularly miss painfully obvious things?

Player has just gone down injured and the replay showed him falling and landing ribs first onto another player's boot (which wasnt flat to the floor). Commentators sy they can't see what's injured him. Up next is a slow motion replay focusing in on the ribs landing on the upturned boot followed by a close up of the physiology assessing the players ribs.

Commentator says "I cat see anything there, perhaps he's hurt his knee"

    Seriously? Piss off hoddle

Don't they have the benefit of more tv angles as well?

Hoddle is just embarrassing. He seems to have no idea.

Hoddle lost all credibility when he once said that loaning Stones to Barnsley did him the world of good.

I think he's lost credibility long before that.

They amused me with their complete shock that Deschamps would take Payet off in an attempt to win the game.

They've had that many years commentating on England that they've forget that you don't just play your biggest names regardless of form to win a match
