Why do Liverpool prefer Crouch to Owen.

    Makes no sense to me.Owen will get 25+ goals EVERY season...Crouch 10-15 at best (one season only in the top flight) I know they want to play with a target man.but to be honest goals win football matches not systems.

    Owen would want to play every game at Liverpool. Benitez wouldn't want him to. Liverpool were too lightweight away from home last year, Crouch gives them more options. Also Valencia under Benitez played 4-5-1, no stars and built on teamwork. Owen, great player though he is, cannot play up front on his own.
