Just had a third incident in a month where my Jack Russell terrier has been attacked by a German Shepherd that is out of control.

The owner also had a go at me while I was trying to get it out of its clutches.

Police said it was "dog on dog" and don't give a ****.

    **** THE FECKING lovely personTS

I have no respect for the police service in Leeds.

Thats a load of bull they just can't be arsed because under the dangerous dogs act if the German Shepherd was running loose and caused you distress in any way the owner can be prosecuted. The dog doesn't have to touch you just cause you distress. Ring em again and ask to speak to a senior officer and tell him if he doesn't do something you'll write to the new police commissioner for west yorkshire.

Same here in tarn my 3 dogs (2 mastiffs and a rottweiler) always on leads, but the amount of times they been attacked by dogs running loose is unbelievable even though you'd think the other owners would be more careful as the Mastiffs are 19 stone and 15 stone and the little Rotts about 7 stone. But no the owners seem to see it as some sort of challenge to piss my boys off. But you can guarentee if my boys had a proper go back I'd get sent to hell by the boys in blue even though they're always on leads just because of their size and the fact ones a Rott

I trust they're not partly responsible for the dogshit in the Kids playground down Stairfoot. Half of the park is inaccessible due to the amount of **** and it clearly comes from big dogs. The owner's noses should be duly rubbed in it everytime they got caught leaving it behind.

Spot on. Dog on dog my arse. Lazy, irresponsible Policing more like.

£100 licences are the answer, I'd happily pay it if it led to more responsible ownership and less unwanted animals. The income would fund the RSPCA and other animal charities.

This was a large german shepherd, up to my shoulders & its owner was a 6 foot madman who thought he was in the TA or something

    **** THE POLICE!!!!!

Irresponsible chavvy dog owners make my blood boil. The law really should do a lot more to sort out the chav owners.

Hence my question. You could be a dwarf for all I know. Or you could be small and it was a particularly big german shepherd. Let's leave it, you seem angry, and I can't be bothered.

I'm 5 foot 7, most german shepherds can reach at least 6 feet.

I'm in casualty at the moment.

Next time I see that dog its an iron bar to the head.

The police have not responded to 3 complaints that all resulted in serious injury to me & my dog.

Fair enough. I misunderstood what you meant, as I said above. You do have my sympathy, there are some right dog owning tools in our society.

I don't think attacking the dog with an iron bar is particularly fair though, it really isn't the dogs fault. The 6ft plastic TA bloke should be your target.

I'd gladly pay it, too, for my dogs

Provided all the money went to the appropriate charities & animal organisations and not syphoned off elsewhere. Unfortunately, the responsible dog owners (who clean up after their animals, keep them on a lead, train them properly, microchip them) would have to shoulder the financial burden of those idiots who'd simply carry on as they do now.

i agree. as long as the dog doesn't come between us I'm happy to approach him

I don't believe in taking the law into your own hands, but as its "dog on dog" we'll see who wins the final battle

All dogs are ok, it's the idiot owners who have no idea how to train them. It's the owners who should be on a lead. My dog was on a lead with a lead muzzle on in a park. An Alsation not on lead attacked him and my dog could not fight back..finished with a gash on his neck and a Vet bill. The idiot woman said sorry and pissed off. That could have been a kid.
