Yesterday Davey obviously picked his formation to fit Colace and Andranik into the side. Surley we should have a system (especially now we have a decent squad to choose from) that the players work hard to play themselves into rather than accommodate players and play other players out of position.
no he didn't yesterday Simon Davey didn't pick a team. Yesterday Simon Davey showed his complete lack of management skills and just ASSUMED that because that formation had got a lucky 1 nil win against sheffield wednesday AWAY from home that it must obviously work against charlton as well.
It would have been better to go 442 after 20 minutes of that match.....but then again............ ............no matter what system we played the fact is the players were looking at one another as though they had never been on the same field of play before .........no movement off the ball what so ever...................talk about static, FFS
Ever heard the old adage - never change a winningt team! To be honest I think he wrong to pick that team - too defensive for a home game but maybe you can see why he didn't want to change the team
