Nothing against the bloke but surely we need an experienced manager at this level to attract some decent name signings and get us out of the mire? Haven't we learnt a lesson from Mr Davey et al? I would hope we would go for Paul Ince, or Phil Brown I am RELIABLY informed that Megson doesn't want the job.

I look at it a different way.

If the strategy is to develop our youngsters (which it has to be), Branson's position is crucial and he's doing a good job looking at the talent of Stones, Digby and Noble-Lazarus in particular.

Why promote him (and ultimately end up sacking him) when he can deliver a much better outcome for Barnsley through his Academy role and the development and nurturing of youth talent?

Paul Ince would be ok but he has no championship experience.

Phil Brown failed to save Preston, why would he save us

    I agree.

I think hes now head of youth development or some name like that and he coaches/manages u21's along with Flitcroft.

WHy does everyone want Ronnie Branson?.................beats me.

He needs to stop where he is because on the face of it he's doing a decent job with the young uns.

I'm not on here every minute of the day but that's the first time I've heard Ronnie Branson mentioned as a potential candidate. Great bloke though

I don't think everyone does, or even if anyone does. Except Mrs. Branson, maybe. One bookie is touting a Hignett/Branson partnership but that's about it.

I've no doubt he's a good bloke but appointing Branson would be an admittance of defeat.

    Half decent youth team coach.

Record this season at u21s mirrors the first team.
