what a load of tosh....they have 4/5 days a week, 52 weeks a year to sort 3 things....

    score goals
    stop the other team scoring
    get fit

Those of you who fall in to the trap of 'takes 2/3 years' really are quite naive...it is not rocket science football....simple game played by generally simple people managed by likewise.

the intelligent managers are the ones that rise to the top....Jose at Chelski for example.

    hope this helps

Spot on Mr Reev as per... There's been very little evidence of Danny's coaching acumen at Oakwell this season.

Anyone can build a team, it's getting them to play the right way that so often ends in tears. We've not had anyone capable of doing that since 05/06.

I think when you start from scratch like we have it probably does take at least four transfer windows to build a team capable of success...some players won't work out, some will get pinched by bigger clubs etc

It takes a while to get in the sort of players you want - trouble is when you lose half your squad every year and rely so much on loanees you never actually get there!

I'm sure Danny would have fared better with the coin Jose has to spend. Would Jose though have done a better job here with Danny's budget? He wunt have lasted 5 minutes anyway. You lot couldn't handle Keith, and he's bloody tame in comparison.

I'd fancy Keith to lead Chelsea to titles with that squad and the money to spend.

I could manage his teams, why do you think he only manages teams with millions of pounds to spend in the window's then disappears when it goes tits up?

    Very True Mr Reev !

Too many managers over complicate a simple game but it helps if the guy in charge has a clue as to what he is doing!

We have been sadly lacking in that department for a while i'm afraid.

Lets hope the next guy has more of a plan.

It's all relative, Bob. I see the achievements of Hill at Rochdale as massive, for them under the circumstances. Nobody can deny that. Huge achievement. Danny's achievement with us in the 90's was even bigger in my opinion. I don't see Mourinho winning the title with Chelsea as any better achievement, relatively.

That's why the greatest manager that ever lived in my opinion, was Brian Clough. Because he took unfashionable northern club, Forest to the top flight, won it, and won in Europe. Mourinho doesn't come close. I even see Wenger and Ferguson as better.

    Exactly that.

The true miracle-worker in the Premiership is Sean Dyche. What's he's done with a club no bigger than us is nothing short of jaw-dropping.

Relative to what they have to spend, Burnley should be nowhere near the Premiership, let alone doing a convincing impression of a club who'll stay in it.

From Whitey's point above, this is why us going for Keith when we did made sense: he'd got a reputation for punching above his weight, and that's exactly what we needed. That's what we need again this time.

Don't forget what Clough did with Derby prior to that too. He was genius.
