If you are willing to pay for ifollow then why not allow it on a saturday? Even if they upped the price to say £15:00 so they could gain a profit , I think many would be Okay with that.
The Saturday 3pm thing is nothing to do with sky, they veto broadcast at that time generally to maximise crowds at games to protect clubs. Even midweek games they affect it; they did some analysis a few years back and came up with that iFollow live coverage drove crowd size down by nearly 5% for the Tuesday night games - for a weekend game, over 10%. The clubs agreed to allow midweek games to be streamed domestically, but not weekend. Sky only affect the games they have exclusive coverage of.
Unless they move abroad. yes. It's about revenue for clubs. If 6 gather round telly to watch. That could be a loss of around £150 to a club. Whereas they'd get peanuts out of 1 subscription.
I'd love to have a go at Sky, but in this case, as @troff said, it's nothing to do with them. One thing I do have umbrage with is the local radio blackouts for live football. If I listen to the match on Radio Sheffield, I'm often not at home so would like to listen online.
In fact it's the exact opposite. It's to protect the sport from Sky. Sky would absolutely love to have every 3pm game broadcasted
Because the PL was allowed to happen with sky allowed to call the tune and the other governing bodies in sport are chasing the dream of cash riches provided by Sky.
