Even if he can't run around as much we won't be losing anything by playing him instead of one of the other midfielders currently available. And we would have his drive and leadership, as well as an on-field reminder of what he's expecting the others to do. Would be a good short-term fix in my view.

I raised that same point a couple of months ago orsen. LJ was saying he thinks he could still do a job at this level, we are desperate for an experienced head, time to step up.

He could play in the hole - but there's a risk he might not be able to climb out.

Would he blame himself... If he didn't show enough passion or skill... Then if he gets man of the match will he substitute himself?

As he retired through injury he will have had a payout which if he played again he would have to repay

Didn't he retire early for medical reasons so he may still feel he has the ability to play at this level but he hasn't got the fitness or the physical requirements.

I don't have to know a person to recognise irony when it's expressed.
