Why don't they support Barnsley?

Following from the thread asking 'Why do you support Barnsley?'
Many local people are keen and knowledgeable football fans but they support a team from elsewhere and never go to Oakwell. Why don't they support their home team?

 

well if it's being a Barnsley Blunt or a Wednesdayite it's probably either down to family or from way back when they were appreciably better and more appealing to go watch. If it's a BIG EPL club then they are glory hunters. I think we all know the psychological shortcomings to do with a need for constant gratification, insecurity and needing to leech off others success that makes the modern glory hunter.
