    Was it because his fellow professionals voted for him? i believe (not 100% sure that thisruns from January to January)

    I think most of these things are jan to jan or feb to feb, cos teddy sheringham said when he won it he played ***** after february

    Agreed, but....

    Just shows the sheep mentality of players. Been plenty of bigging up of him on TV but having only started 12 games in the league, and to get player of the year for that is a disgrace. Many players in front of him IMO.
