Surely no chance of him getting off - clearly raised his hands at Mascherano. Should get an extra game ban for a 'frivolous' appeal.

Well the ref got it wrong

He should have either sent them both off or neither - both committed exactly the same offence - to be honest it really wasnt worthy of a red card though the letter of the law probably says it is.

I think they were mad that Mascherano didn't walk as well...

He put his hand to Aliadieres face as well.

    Consistency....

Correct he should have gone too

Stupid law but not as stupid as players are to break it and get sent off.

Mascherano should have gone as well

Like I said in the other reply, silly rule that such a nothing incident results in a 3 match ban, the same probably as what Taylor'll get for his foul on Eduardo, but rules are rules and they state that raising your hands is a red card offence. Idiot for slapping someone.

Are you saying that mistiming a tackle

should result in a longer ban than violent conduct?

    No

I'm saying a mis-timed tackle that was clearly worthy of missing some games is worse than someone tapping someone on the cheek.
