These two guys have had relatively nothing to spend on players

Even so.........when the players they have got have been fit, the team has shown what it is capable of doing

    Leeds last season
    Birmingham this season

If Keith and Flicker had at their disposal a full set of fit players........plus a bit of money to be competetive in the transfer market then Barnsley would be closer to the top of the league than the bottom

I would not swap Keith and Flicker for any other management team from any division

But that's the thing....we know how well this team can play, it's been shown a few times under Hill but since January of this year, the majority of the time it's been dire football. Do we need somebody new in to motivate that team to play well on a more regular basis which I think they are capable of doing??

The Keith Hill wind might blow in different directions according to some on here (dependent of course on how many are complaining at the time).

But my views of Keith Hill and Flicker have remained the same.

The only manager I wouldn't swap him for is Darren Ferguson.

When we have played well the football has been entertaining and a pleasure to watch but the close to bottom three finish last season and the alarming current form are both a factor that can't be ignored.

What has happened could be put down opposition Managers tactics but the main reason in my opinion is the missing link of the best midfielder in the Championship!

I stopped reading at that. He's had plenty to spend to currently have a side of nearly 40 players. That's enough to field nearly four different starting elevens. How much you reckon he's wasted on Rob Edwards 18 games?

Nudge, you have a point, in that we have seen the ocassional good performances, but we totally lack consistency.
And the diffrenece between our high and low points is massive.

This to me points to leadership and motivation ie. it is poor.

I watched the Mourinho documentary last night on ITV4 and the thing that clearly shone through for me is that Jose manages to get his squad of players "together" and they would run through brick walls for him. OK we know he has "rich pickings" in terms of player quality, but leadership and motivation has nothing to do with the quality of players, it is down to the Management team (including captain, which Keith Hill has not addressed until recently appointing Steele, hopefully on a long-term basis).

I do not see any leadership and motivation at BFC and whilst ever the going is good (on the field/results), that's fine BUT when things take a turn for the worse, you need this key characteristic........we don't have it I'm afraid.

One thing I forgot to mention........but was reminded by the above post........and is contary to the above post is this............the players work hard for Keith Hill, the effort is still there, the motivation is still there..........heads rarely drop

However, belief and confidence is sometime effected by the constant losses
I do believe that this confidence can only be regained with a new strong captain in central defence

Well we won't be getting one of those until January at the earliest so I guess we're up the creek without a paddle.
