That folk have to keep slagging Rob off? The club are doing really well, everyone's buzzing, yet some folk just can't leave it. What annoys me most is that it's people I know and respect who are constantly bringing it up. You know who you are. For fooks sake grow up lads and post something positive. Who cares about a spelling/grammar mistake when the Reds are flying high?! :S
hey I werent slagging him off i just told him about his mistake's. I'm sure you as a journalist would welcome anybody pointing out a spelling mistake you had made so that you could correct it wouldnt you?
Makes a change from "Hart Out" "Gudjon Out" "Hodges Out" doesnt it?
Once Rob leaves t'well they'll start slagging the groundsmen off..

RE: You could email always email him they don't always recieve emails that are sent and I know rob reads this board anyway.
He's changed them now so alerting him to the mistakes obviously works

Actually. That was the reason for talking to Gordon this morning. They've had a new mail server installed recently and there have been some teething problems with it.
It works for 2 or 3 weeks and then it dies. The company that installed it are trying to get to the bottom of it.

Or he could put it on here like he did He obviously reads the posts on here, so no problem. As you have stated yourself after discussing matters with Gordon Shepherd, e-mails to the club can go missing.
Based on what? I get the impression that most of the comments on this subject are based entirely on hearsay and without any knowledge of what Rob's role is at the club or how well he performs it. A few spelling and grammatical mistakes here and there are hardly cause for a witch hunt.

not wanting to have a go at the club or anything but certain things be done for free or at cost price by barnsley fans in return for a mention in the programme and on the website etc?

RE: Based on what? Based on the way he treats the fans, his programme notes, his inability to spell correctly, or type up a half decent article on the official website. Isn't he in charge of the official website? Well, it's a shambles, it's his responsibility. We should take on a school kid on Work Experience, they'd do a better job than Robert Knowles.
the work experience idea is a good one we could get somebody in from a school or even better from barnsley college to help rob create some of the pages that are missing and to revamp some of those that are out of date etc like the history page. I think it's fair to say that rob is no graphics expert but barnsley college is full of them, we could get someone on work experience to create some desktop wallpapers for the site and make new pictures for it free of charge.
RE: the work experience idea is a good one Aslong as they're enthusiastic and willing to help, why not? It's a very good idea indeed, and I'm not just saying that because it was my idea! Are you reading Robert?
RE: You could always email him would he give people his side of things ,regarding getting someone sacked..think that is were the main grievance about him came about .not being funny like ???
"The Website's a shambles." This is more down to the premium TV platform than the content? (ok some things like the history etc could be improved).
I don't believe it is down to Premium TV Over club's run a premium TV website very well. Certainly much better than ours is at the moment.
Take for example the academy section. On Barnsley's website you have 3 menu items. One is a page telling you what the academy is. This is certainly a good page andshould be kept. The second page is telling you who each scholar is. Again this is a decent page (could be a bit better though) The other page looks dull and is basically just a list. You click on the headlines and it brings you to a page that I'm sure you wouldnt put your name to if you had created it. It is just two tables stacked on top of each other that look nothing short of pathetic. The tables dont even have proper borders and ther is no padding, spacing or alignment. The fixtures and table should be on seperate pages for a start.
http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Squad/AcademyFixturesDetail/0,,10309~676222,00.html
Compare this with Norwich's website where they have a full section dedicated to the academy. There is an introduction page, codes of conduct, educational provision, medical provision, acadamy staff, general information, fixtures and a table (on seperate pages).
also the interact section on Barnsley's website is one page and even that isnt a proper page it is simply a redirect to an external page and is basically an advertisement. Norwich on the other hand take you to games, downloads, a newsletter, competitions and a message board.
The premium TV format isnt perfect but it gets a lot of bad press for things that arent its fault. If Barnsley took full advantage of the features that it provides then we could have a very good official website. Unfortunatly for whatever reason we have chosen not to do so and instead provide the fans with the bare minimum.
